Vintage Emerald Green Asian Brocade Coat robe

An incredible vintage statement coat crafted from rich emerald green brocade, intricately woven with traditional Asian scenes of pagodas, trees, florals, figures and animals in beautiful gold, bronze and red tones.

The fabric has a gorgeous silky sheen, while the traditional frog closures, longline shape and front pockets give it that unmistakable vintage Asian silhouette. Based on the construction and textile design, this appears to be a mid-to-late 20th century piece, influenced by traditional Chinese silk brocade garments.

The fabric has the look and feel of silk brocade, however there is no fibre label present, so exact composition cannot be guaranteed.

A beautifully roomy, oversized fit through the body rather than one that needs to conform to a particular modern size.

Condition

Good vintage condition with plenty of character from age. There are areas of fading where the green is less vibrant, including some fading/colour variation to the inner lining. A few loose threads are present around the pockets and underarms, along with general minor vintage wear. 1 toggle missing from bottom
